Job Ad: William Jewell College Assistant Prof. of Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy at William Jewell College invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 2024. The successful candidate will have a PhD in philosophy or be on track to have earned the PhD by August 2024. This is a teaching position, with a 4/4 load, and no scholarship expectations. The successful candidate will teach courses in Social Philosophy and Ethics in the Philosophy Department, Social and Political Philosophy in the college’s Oxbridge Honors Program, and courses in applied social and political philosophy in the college’s Critical Thought and Inquiry core curriculum. The preferred candidate will be able to offer courses in Philosophy of Race and Feminist Philosophy, and will demonstrate enthusiasm for drawing students to the study of philosophy and to the humanities more generally.
